Very nice.
A bolt of inspiration finally hit when I was cleaning my bookshelf and came across my childhood Lord of the Rings books (1957 printing), which have fold-out maps attached to the back cover. Voilà! Still needs a lot of work but it's a start.

Thanks, ScottDA! I'm going to try to give this one a Tokienesque feel, which I have thus far not been able to do.
That's a great idea, and it looks good already. Thanks for joining the challenge.

I'm mostly done with the mountains and hills on the map itself. I may add a bit more detail to the mountains later, before transferring them to the book cover. I'm fairly happy with how those turned out. I also decided to really shake things up and shade as though the sun is in the east.
Next up, rivers. After that, forests. I'm not really looking forward to drawing all those little trees! I've made tree brushes but I've found it challenging to use them to create forests.

Thanks, nopkin and Bogie! I added the rivers and some names. I'm trying to decide how many trees I want - I'm thinking dense forests will make this map feel too cluttered. I need to play around with the text a bit, as well as some spacing/placement.

Nice Mockup .
Lovin all the names, especially the town of Oz on the Osborne Islands.
I once read a story from back when Ozzy was in the TV show The Osbournes. He was walking down the street in New York City and some 13 year old kid spotted him and went all fanboy. He said Ozzy what are you doing in New York? And Ozzy said I'm here playing with my band and the kid says, no kidding, you're in a band too?

Ha, that's too funny! I was pretty surprised at how much Ozzy mumbled in the Osbournes, since his song lyrics are pretty understandable. Also, I went to OzFest back in the day (oy, in the late '90s...now I definitely feel old!). There was one guy there who had pretty clearly passed out during the Jimmy Buffet concert the previous day and woke up to OzFest. I wish I had thought of that option...
