Nice with a historical map, funny enough Byzantine is a specialty of my father-in-law so he would probably find it very interesting to seeNice clear colors, I would probably have enlarged the map a bit to make room for a bigger symbol and text - right now it seems a bit cramped.

I guess it does seem a little cramped, but that's appropriate to a map of a greatly diminished empire hemmed in by hostile powers and soon to be squeezed out of existence.

I'll join Tilt about the map being a bit cramped, but I did enjoy reading and looking at it ! History is always fascinating to me
Would it be less cramped if I deleted all the text on the left? I felt that it looks empty, that is why I filled there with text.
yes.. its the text that bothers me. I would be better in a side box if you want it on the map and it will leave the map cleaner
