August 2013 Entry: Post Apocalyptic Middle East as a Cover

By pure coincidence, I re-did my novel cover this month (after re-doing it last month).

I'm not sure, but IIRC the rules state that no premade map can be used.

The contest was annonced the 7th of august but you posted your WIP map the 30th of july here: http://www.cartographersguild.com/re...ddle-east.html

But you completed it a couple of days after, so I don't know if it's ok.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but here's a direct quote from the rules:

Original work - The map must be made within the time frame of the challenge. Therefor it is not allowed to use a previously made map or continue work on a map begun before the challenge commenced.

It's no skin off my back if I don't qualify. I didn't re-do this map for this challenge. I did it for its own sake. If that goes against the spirit of what these challenges are about, then by all means, don't consider this entry.

The link Azelor refers to contains five separate maps. When I posted it, I was taking a short break from the novel maps to do a small project for a friend. I started the most-recent of this particular map's version on the 9th or 10th of this month, and posted an in-progress of this particular map on the 11th.

Still, I didn't start this version specifically for this challenge. I wasn't even aware of this challenge until this morning, and I only posted it here because it seemed to fall within the guidelines. If that's not the case, it's no problem at all.

Definitely much improved, though unfortunately it won't be able to be in the running, given that you began working on it before the contest.
