Wip January/February 2024 Challenge: Shadow of the Necromancer

    Hi Everyone

I have some inspiration for a map and the time to work on it so I'm jumping in on the main challenge. My concept is fairly simple, the first map will show a small coastal village, and the second will show how the area changes after the arrival of a necromancer. Below is what I have so far; I've got the bulk of the map down so from here the main things to be added are borders, decorations, and labels.

I found the house designs and the small bridge to the castle really to stand out, promising work!

What a silly necromancer, to come build his castle on a flimsy, eroding cliff.

Hopefully he'll get a taste of his own medicine, and will be forced to rebild one of the ruined houses.

Here is my latest progress on this piece. I've now got all the detail pencilled in so I'm onto the inking next.

Nice details, especially with banners and boarder. Can't wait to see the final render!

I've been working away at the inking over the last few days and making some good progress. Here is the latest update.

I can't wait to see the final version. The linework on your buildings especially is so good.

Thanks guys. I'm very pleased with how it's coming so far, this might be one of my best maps to date.

Looking great! The detail on the column, gargoyle, and town is perfect.
