Very nice so far. I'll have to play around with the Atlas style a bit more in the future, too.
The years before the Great Guild War was a time of intrigue, when the four great banking Houses - the Cappadova, the Staravo, the Danici, and the Valdrid - engaged in a shadow war that, in some ways, was even more devastating than the actual war that followed. Each House had its tentacles of commerce and politics sunk deep into most of the city-states of the Saradan Peninsula and the Danshiel lands to the south of the Serpentine. In those days, the various Doges, Dukes, and Princes were puppets, moved by strings of finance, bribes, and blackmail.
I wanted to make sure I had a shot of getting this done before posting anything, so here's the first part. Next up will be city placement and borders.

Got the various nations controlled by the four Banking Houses inked in.

What do you guys think - too much contrast between the two fonts? If so, which do you like better?

Yeah, I think they're a bit too divergent Diamond.
I do like the more curvy one but it's harder to read.
Any other font choices maybe?
If you had to choose between the two I think that modern sans serif just seems, well, too modern.

What about this? All the same font - Roman Antique.

Interesting start. And you seem to have a love-affair with italian and spanish names/backgrounds....what's up with that?!
I'm trapped in Darkness,
Still I reach out for the Stars
Great setting on a wonderfully executed map Diamond (as usual ^^)! Banking institution > Standing armies... I also think the Roman Antique font fits the style really good imo. Keep up the great work!
Map is not territory...
