Thread: Commission 2018: Summer and Winter City

Default Commission 2018: Summer and Winter City

Here is a picture showing a view of a small city, portrayed in both summer and winter. I should make more winter maps, there are definitely too few winter citymaps out there.

This was made for fantasy writer Thomas Pine last year.

    Regards,
    Karl

It is cool to see the same map with different season. Well done!
I agree that we need more winter maps.
But winter can be hard to map.

    They are both fantastic !!!

I just saw them on facebook... So great !

It's not only the summer-winter ambiance, it's the village and its architecture too, that I find really admirable !

Really neat to see the same season in different season. The small details like the sled on the ice really make it complete.

Winter city map ! Great idea !! (and cheaper for printing :p)
I love the concept of this natural fortification, with the small port : good job for everything, Karl

You've done an amazing job on the city itself, as always, and the winter map is perfectly done as well. I can imagine that being very hard to get right, but you pulled it off great! Love the icicles too, they're a nice touch!

    Oh they're really lovely

I think those poor market stall owners are probably a bit cold in the winter version

Big thanks everyone! Happy people like this duo. Regarding this response it feels like I should explore mapping snow further. Perhaps it’s time to try my hand at a mountain city again; I can just imagine what could be done in a wintery setting there.

And regarding your comment Mouse I didn’t even consider it. Poor poor traders.

    Regards,
    Karl
