    Default Bure -- Realistic Topography

    Hello Guild,

This map represents my attempt to get back into mapmaking after a long hiatus (3 weeks). Let me know which one you prefer.

    As always, thanks.

    Hi Peter,

I like the first one much better, the colors are more pleasant to the eye and the elevation seems easier to "read".

I'm going to have to vote for the second one. I'm always a sucker for strongly contrasted colours.

Is it too picky to say the colours of the first one with the bump map of the second one?

This is what I am thinking, lol. Love the colors on the first one, but love the bump map on the 2nd.

I have to agree, it would like to see the result. If I had to chose between the two versions you showed us, I would go for the first one. I really like that style and I'm often trying to make something similiar but I'm never really satisfied with my mountains. How do you get them so good?

Agree. Great mountains. How did you do them?

I prefer the strong contrast of the second. In particular, it's easier to see the river drainage patterns.

I'd say 2nd one, just lowering intensity on that deep green.
