This is for an upcoming game (5e) me and some friends are playing. The first version is the first map that I ever made (done with gimp). I got some tips from people here and also one of our players is a hydrologist and he said the rivers were messed up, so I just got the layouts of the Ohio and Green River and changed the map a bit.

My second version is done with ink pens on water color paper and then I watered down my reaper mini paints and painted it. I assume that makes it a water color map. This is the first time I have painted something not a mini since elementary school so any tips on water color painting would be appreciated.

I did the colors of the houses to mark the areas but as you can see I didn't do a legend or any text. I am wondering if anyone has some tips of how I should do that. Should I just ink over the top? Digitally put it in? Should that have been part of the process? Leave it blank?

Also any general criticism of the map is welcome.
