Well, that's what I get for voting when I'm Half asleep.

The vote was supposed to go to Chick and I must have clicked on my self by mistake. Freudian slip no doubt!

Regardless of the outcome I will have 1 less vote and Chick will have one more.

LOL, I wasn't sure of the protocol so held back on voting for myself.

I don't think there's a rule against it. Some people don't like it, others don't mind it. I am personally of the opinion that if you don't think your work is good enough to vote for it yourself, then why bother competing. Others don't agree, and I completely respect that opinion as well. But if I ever ran for president, I can promise you I'm not gonna vote for the other guy!

In any case, as far as these competitions go, I generally opt out of voting in the ones in which I have a piece.

I think you should look at all of the work and then vote for the ones you think are best, including your own, or not, as you judge it against the rest.

There is nothing wrong with competing and trying hard, and then deciding that yours is not really among the best so not voting for it.

There is also nothing wrong with looking at all the entries and deciding that yours really is quite good and voting for it.

I've done each, and I expect I'll continue to vote for entries I think are the best, whether mine is one of them or not.

Well said. I'd rep you again for that if I could.

I really did intend to vote for Chick.
I am somewhat in the camp of not voting for myself. This is a friendly competition after all.
If I were running for office or something serious like that, ( or if there were money involved ) I would vote for myself.
But I also see the point of view that if you are proud of your entry why not vote for it.
I think you have to ask yourself, would I have voted for this if it were not mine. This is a choice each has to make for themselves.
