Map Small Town of Volvai's Crossing

I'm starting a new campaign here soon and I'm starting small, sending the company (group of players) to a small hamlet out by a river. The entire thing is supposed to be blurry, almost like it was water painted. It's a handout, so I want it to look like it was made by an artist/cartographer in-game. I'm not sure about the buildings, I feel like I failed there. Oh well!

For the buildings I would just use roughly drawn rectangles with no roof indication.
Bill Stickers is innocent! It isn't Bill's fault that he was hanging out in the wrong place.

I agree, the buildings should be more "blob-like" than 3-D if you're shooting for hand-drawn. Also, most hand drawn maps/pics are not "blurry", but just not hard-edged; I think I see you've used a different filter (ex: posterize, watercolor, etc.) before blurring it, which is the right idea in my mind.

I do like the color scheme of this. A lot! Very rich and inteesting! Nice job!

I really like the blurred style togther with the richness of the colours. I think the font works too. I'm not too sure that it looks like it was drawn by an in-game cartographer, mainly due to the houses but also because the colours give it a slightly "pop" look. I love the style on its own though.

    Great work.

Hey Jarviss: I just saw this map by Andy Law (due to a nice reference posted by thebax2k at http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...?t=892thebax2k)
and it reminded me of your map. Thought you may find it interesting in comnparison to yours, for they seem to have somewhat similar styles to my eye.
