Lines of advance if you hadn't already thought of that...
I like the terrain you already have. Looking forward to seeing this progress.
I got my appetite up with the Svensksund map (posted in the lite challenge forum) so I thought I'd do more historical maps.
I'm working on finding a good look and I plan to do a couple of more working up to a huge wargame map of the battle of Poltava.
This is my Breitenfeld map, first WIP.
I need to rework the forest so it doesn't look like a miscolored hill.
The brown lines are battalions (6 ranks of ~100 men) to scale and I'll add cav and cannon. The ones on the map right now are just for test. They should have different colors depending on type or regiment.
I need to add some villages and there should be some more trees around the map.
Anything else?

Update1:
Have been working on the ground texture, forest and the villages. Next up are the units.

Update2:
Added placeholders for the swedish and saxon units, I'll rework them as i got the scale wrong. The imperial units are all there and i tried to make some tracks to show how they're moving. I'll add dust clouds to all moving units (some swedes has dust now, testing the effect).

Update 3:
All the units are done. Still testing out the dust effects, I don't know if it's too much... I'll need to do the arty next.

I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. Could mods please move it to general mapping where it belongs ?
There you go

Can't wait to see how this turns out. I love maps of historical places or events, and the battle of Breitenfeld is certainly an interesting event to map.
It's looks good so far, good luck!
