YES!!! Another entry! It was getting pretty lonely this month. Great idea for a map Diego, it is a good representation of a map from a creature's perspective.
Cheers,

Meliponinae is a group of stingless bees. They build nests inside hollow spaces in nature, such as hollow tree trunks and crevices in stones.
As in other bees, they have a queen, workers and drones (a few males that are only useful to copulate with the queen).
To a worker, the nest is like a house for its entire family (everyone in the colony is related), and I thought it would be nice to "role-play" a worker drawing it's own home.

Hahaha! Yes, I am also hopping for more entries!
Initially I planned on a series of maps showing also the environment in which the worker travels between the nest and the foraging area (where it searches for flower resources) and the foraging area itself. But I am afraid there won't be enough time for the whole series and maybe I will just focus on the nest for now. There will be further editing!
Thank you for the support, arsheesh!

Between catching some food for her sisters and tending to their eggs in the cells, the worker found some time to refine his previous map:

Meliponinae Nest - WIP 02.png
In general, bees see colours different from humans. While we are sensitive to everything from violet to red, bees can see from a certain range of Ultra-Violet to a certain range of red.
I believe most of the materials in the nest are made of dull colours (tree trunk, fibers and bee saliva). So, I didn't imagine them reflecting UV light and so they will have a normal dull colour, with little influence of Reds (because bees have poor red sensitivity). But I did imagine the surface of the honey (inside some open honey pots) and the polen to be more reflective and reflect some UV colours. So, I represented that reflectance by some violet/pink highlights on the honey and polen.

Diego
Worker bee thoughts:
"Maybe... I will have time to include a representation of me (and my sisters) and mom!"

Hope there is still time for a final update. Resolution isn't that good. If time allows, I will try to fix it tomorrow...

Meliponinae Natural History - WIP.jpg
Such a great idea, lovin it! Have some rep!
Thanks!!!
It was based on some scientific research on natural history of several species of stingless bees. Later I can share some of that research!
