Default 44 - The Precincts of the Dead [Diamond]

I picked section 44 because it has a couple of nice little hills and a long strip of waterfront property - kind of made me think of a half-flooded graveyard type of setting.

I think what it is, is a hilltop monastery (The Diamantene Order ), along with a graveyard and a bunch of waterfront mausoleums that are ruined and half-flooded. Seemed like a good idea at the time as a place for those rich folks to bury their dead... A lot of the monastery is abandoned, maybe even half-ruined; the Order isn't what it used to be. There might be a little tavern in there somewhere too, so folks visiting the bone orchard can come in from the chill and sit by the fire for a while.

Sounds great Diamond, you got the right spot for a hilltop monastery here. Can i rent a family mausoleum in extra large there, the family of late embassador Xriquq is huge? Looking forward to see more of it!

I hope I can live up to expectations! City mapping is definitely NOT my specialty, but I really need to get into it, since a lot of my writing has stalled out for lack of city maps...

Anyway, here's a first pass at roughing in some ideas. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do with that long strip along the top. I think maybe it's half-abandoned townhouses, ruined and waterlogged from some decades-past flooding. Maybe one or two of them are claimed by a thieves' guild.

I agree, it seems to be perfect for a narrow slippery path along the cliffs. On the one side a streaming river down below, on the other side entrances to long abandoned crypts

Haha, croc people... took a moment for my mind to take that in the intended direction and not to the holey shoes. I need sleep, apparently.

I like the sound of it, Diamond.

A little not constructive comment :

This thread sounds like a weird Romero/Carpenter crossover. I like that !
