Wonderful maps, SteffenBrand! Great line art and design
Hey guys! =)
I've created two maps recently for the German Pen-&-Paper-RPG 'The Dark Eye' (kind of the German equivalent of Dungeons & Dragons / Pathfinder). I like both of them very much, they are very much 'my style' when it comes to mapmaking.
The first one is the 'Sphere Model' of the world. This was was one of two maps I made published as part of a preview of the upcoming book 'Historia Aventurica' 2014. This book describes the whole history of the RPG-world of 'The Dark Eye' (Das Schwarze Auge). This image depicts the spheres that hold the world together with its' seven spheres. There was an old picture from another artist once made to depict this and I was asked to redo and update this. Since I know a lot about this world, this was really fun, I have included a lot of stuff that came up over the years and all in all it was kind of an honor. =)
The second one was published in 'Träume von Tod' (you could translate it to 'Dreams of Death') 2014. A map depicting the Region known as 'Rabenmark' from the German P&P-RPG 'The Dark Eye'. In this publication there are 4 other pieces I made. Was a lot of fun to do and is probably my favourite world-depicting map I made.
Both of them were a lot of work, the really sad part is that you really don't see much of this. Anyway, everything done in Photoshop, previously sketched with pencils. Hope you like it at least a bit =)

Very Cool! I agree with Chashio. Great design.
Great work on those maps. That's a very nice attention to detail.
Very nice work here
Thanks guys, very kind of you. =)
It's just now I see I totally forgot the scale...
This here is why I love B&W maps. They can have as much character as color maps, but seem much more elegant Keep up the good work.
The RPG book 'Historia Aventurica' was finally published and since there was more shown than the preview I'm allowed to show the other map I made for this book. It's kind of an In-Game map, so it wasn't supposed to be very accurate. Nevertheless I get the feeling this kind of maps show more than just the land masses and reflect somehow the agenda or opinions of the people about distant lands... As always: I welcome every kind of critique or question. =)
Hope you like this, too! =)

Very good maps! Original and great ideas on the first one, and I love the design of the last one.
Thanks, Ilanthar! Nearly missed your comment here =)
