    Map Nimona

A few days ago, looking at J.Edward's awesome Instagram feed, I was struck by some mountains of his (as usual). I started doodling and, got to do a whole map. The terrain and forests are flat and it's a shame, I gotta make huge progress in this department but the map I ended up with is good enough for my tastes. Hand drawn with my kuretake n°13 soft brush on a lovely recycled sketchpad in the span of 3 to 4 hours. You have the full size version here.

Wow, that's great, Thom. I really like this style you've got going here. It's very unique and pleasing.

And here's an idea for ya: you could easily turn maps like this into special gift cards. I could easily see these being stocked in boutique card and gift shops, just as they are, or with a bit of colour

Really fantastic work Thom, I love that you use just one brush for the whole thing.

I would rep you, but apparently have to spread some around a bit more first...

I like the darker/comic feel to the map.

Never bored by your traditional maps ! You're clearly developing great skills with your kuretake.

Thanks a lot George Your idea is a really good one, I'll try and whip a hand full of those, with more varied terrain and a bit more time spend on it and see if I can push them to a card company, thanks for the idea !

Thanks a lot Tonquani ! Doing everything with the same brush is a bit tough as it requires a lot of control (it hurts a bit sometimes) but the brush itself, when it's used well allows for such line variety, it's a pretty amazing (demanding) tool.

Merci Vincent, I've been watching a lot of inking videos of Gabriel Rodriguez on twitter lately and it's pretty enlightening.

Thanks Ruby, but these ones are John's with my sloppy thick strokes. That's why I take your comment as a huge compliment

    Oooh, superbe !
I'm definitely a fan of the "just one pen" technique : nothing better to progress !
