Default Post-Megaquake Pangea Map for Dungeons & Dragons Universe

Hello everyone! If you're reading this, thank you, and hopefully you'll consider working on this project of mine.

For the past month or so, I've spent most of my free time writing up the history of a universe which I created for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. I won't go into all the details about that, but what I will get into is what you're here for: the world map. The idea which I had for this fantasy world was that it was originally a great pangea on a planet otherwise covered by ocean. During a great war between the Gods and Titans, the world suffered from a megaquake, which split the pangea into a few pieces. After fiddling around with a few different mapping tools and generators that I found online, I got a very general idea of what I'd like the world to sort of look like. Sadly however, my skills as a cartographer are very much not advanced enough to put forward the level of skill I'd love to see for this project.

The first tool I messed around with was just a very basic free map designer online. On that, I created a very rough idea of what my ideal world would somewhat resemble. The shape of the landmasses is entirely up to change as the artist sees fit, but this is the general idea of what I would like to see nonetheless.

The main gist of what I'd love to see is one large main island, which is the largest remnant of the pangea, next to a secondary landmass, and then a chain of islands in the North-Western area. The climate of the area is much like that of countries in the Southern hemisphere. Cold, almost tundra-like area in the Southern reaches, lush green landscapes towards the far North and middle, with maybe a desert somewhere up North as well.

To be entirely honest, I don't fully understand geographical layouts very well at all. However, if it makes sense, I would love to see at least one solidly large mountain range lining a portion of the coast of this map, preferably in the Southern area. None of the mountains would be all too spectacular in size. The only mountains that would be any significance in size would be five lain out in a pattern something like this in one area:

Besides this, the only real landmarks I'd like to see included would be a desert of any size, a vast forest, a few rivers or lakes, the mountain range mentioned previously, and perhaps a dangerously rocky outcropping in the ocean/sea somewhere. When I say rocky outcropping, I mean like the sort of thing you would see in a lot of movies about sailors, where in the stories the air is so foggy that many ships crash into the rocks jutting out of the water due to not being able to see them. A ship graveyard, in short.

To put into perspective the general sizing of the map I'd like to see, here's the first image again, but with a circle on it. That circle represents the largest city in this world, which in my head would be roughly the size of a small state like Connecticut.

This city would have a number of provinces in it, but city maps can be worried about another time. I don't have actual city locations picked out yet, or even a name for this place, but I'm sure that that will all come in time as well. Right now, I'm just eager to see something beautiful created for this world.

Since this is an unpaid request, I'm not expecting work worthy of several thousand dollars or anything. Whatever people can manage, I will be thankful for, and will accept, however I do wish to receive something that is of good quality (Which likely went without saying anyways, but hey, there is is). If it were entirely up to me, I'd like to have something that can be zoomed in to a relatively large scale though, say maybe like a good 5k by 4k pixels or so. If that's too big, I would completely understand, and would be willing to downsize things accordingly. I'd also love to be able to have a map that, when people are shown it, get a look of astonishment and wonder on their face.

I'm not planning on wanting to copyright this map at all, by the way, as it's going to be used strictly for personal reasons. If that changes at a later date, I will contact whoever made the map and discuss that with them then. The map doesn't need to be done incredibly soon either, as the campaign it will be used for is still very much being prepared and written. There's ample amount of time to work on this, so no stress on time constraints.

If you'd like to chat about getting involved with this map, discuss locations of things like cities, provinces, villages, or landmarks, or if you just have some questions, please feel free to contact me any time with the information listed below, or leave a comment! I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible, and I look forward to talking with some of you!

    Best regards, and thanks again,
