Great idea, nice pit to start with!
For the recent Lite Challenge, I wanted a firepit in the middle of the inn common room. I finally found a decent one, but very uninteresting and very low resolution. I added some fire to it just to cover the banal look.
So I've decided to create some firepits with and without fire. Here is the first one, empty. Subsequent ones will have varying contents from blazing fires to dead ashes.

great idea - was thinking about doing fire pits myself (but i'll leave that to you)...perhaps having a campfire pit would also be good.

*I've made some of my maps into full adventures available for download at DriveThruRPG.com or Paizo.com

Campfires, Braziers, Torches, anything with fire is always useful!

Here are my entries for this challenge. I've included eight variations here, just in case someone wants them. The six that are officially part of the challenge entry are the ones shown in the final picture (next post).

Cool, little suggestion: The burning fires and glowing coal should illuminate the stones, it feels detached
Nice work Chick, great entry!
While I agree with Eric in regards to the illumination, I have 2 suggestions for your maps.
1 Pay attention to the relative size of your objects. You have baskets of fruit that are larger than the tables in the next room.
2 You don't need to label each room. The labels are large and distracting and we all know what a common room and a kitchen look like.
Now, if you were doing a commission for someone and they insisted on labeling the rooms, I would use smaller lettering and a lower contrast color.

Thank you, Eric and Bogie, for some excellent suggestions! The illumination is a great idea, and I've removed the distracting room labels. As for the fruit and veggies, I knew it was too large, but I wanted people to at least be able to see what it was
