Thats very cool! Is it hard to place your map in google earth?
Hi all.
I present to you an earthlike world I made:
Abrideu !

(the previous image is a rendering in celestia)
Here's the map:

I made a google earth addon and placed the borders and the names of continents and country:

I made a video of it to see all the details (it's uploading on youtube as I'm writting)
I chose to use google earth beacause it allows me to add more details as you zoom in. I'm not sure how far I will go into details.
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

It's quite simple actually.
Here's the video I uploaded
Blimey, that's awesome. I can't help but to ask, how did you made this?
WIP - My world map (now with tectonic plates. Or something that remotely resembles them.)
WIP - Ivaerus continent - A fresh new struggle in making a continental map.
It looks pretty dry, is it intentional ?
It's not intended to be a desert planet, but it is intended to have more deserts than earth.
I drew the continental shapes in photoshop. For the texturing I used some earth high res satelite pictures that I applyied to my continents depending on what I wanted it to look like (I have a big 8000*8000 file that I use for texturing earthlike planets).
Then I placed the map in google earth and drew the borders on it and attribuated names.
RobA wrote a tutorial on how to put a map into Google Earth about 5 years ago. I don't have a link at the moment but it's here in The Guild somewhere. It might not be in a tutorial but in the WIP thread for a map of his.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

I add more detail to the map, now the image is 16384 * 8192 while it used to be 2048 * 1024. So you can zoom in closer in google earth
