Thread: Multipoly A-B Subtraction?

    Default Multipoly A-B Subtraction?

I see where Multipoly can be used to join polygons (and) and subtract one polygon that's completely contained in another but when I put one poly on top of another to cut out a section (like an inlet in a landmass) it's subtracting where the polys overlap and creating new "land" where they don't.

Is there a way to tell CC3+ "I want to remove where they intersect and ALSO remove all of "B"?

If I recall correctly, polygon fills in CC3+ are based on the even-odd rule and this behavior extends to multipolies. Asking this question over at the ProFantasy forums might get you a better answer.

If you're willing to keep effects on, sacrifice a color, live with an image-space feature, and accept the sheet ordering things, the Color Key effect can be used to remove parts ( http://forum.profantasy.com/comments...cussionID=5280 shows an example combined with other elements). If you're willing to remesh the entities, the CONTOURSMX command (as described at http://rpgmaps.profantasy.com/?p=4292 ) might be of interest.
