November/December 2015 Challenge: Elemental Airship

As I said in my previous message, this is my commission for you!
I want a map of an airship propelled with magic, more precisely by a technical device based on captured air elementals. The device is keeping the elementals captive and is also used to "order" to the elementals the direction and altitude of the ship.
The ship must be a cargo, mainly designed for commercial purposes, but dotted with few defensive options. It's a large ship with multiple decks, and all things necessary for a one month travel with no stop.
I let everything else to your imagination (and of course, you can interpret this with your own vision). Curious to see what you will do with it!

So far all I have is the Top Deck. I was thinking of basing its design off the HMS Beagle and a flying fish. So we will see how that turns out.

Regarding your sketches for propulsion, both are very good ideas. I think I have a preference for the first one, though.
It actually dawned on me while I was riding my bike that I could mix the two.
So, it would be in blimp mode when it was cruising. But when it went into combat mode the elementals would exit the blimp and the balloon would deflate. Then the elementals would push the balloon like a parasail.
