I love it, I especially like the subtle textures on it, and the statistics by the side. Simply brilliant!
Hi all, well, here was my entry for last month's challenge. The challenge was to create a map of an extreme environment. I chose to do a sci-fi piece depicting an ice-moon (Boreas) that was home to a mining colony. Here are two different versions of this piece: one of which is more of a planetary view, and the other of which is more "map-like".

I love the planet version because it feels like I'm in a ship flying towards it at the beginning of a movie. I can imagine the music playing already. Well done man!

Ha! Your mappy one almost perfectly matches my current desktop. My transparent taskbar is exactly that shade of purple and the desktop image is a slideshow of saturn's moons. Needless to say, I LOVE that version. It's nice to see a sci-fi overlay that isn't green.
Gidde's just zis girl, you know?

Have you thought of lighting up the colony, it being on the night side? I think that would give a really cool accent to the picture.
Great science-fi depict! I really like the smooth quality of the lighting and the minimalist style is quite accomplish. Not too much, just enough.
This is beautiful! I love the planetary view. It is so realistic looking!
Stunningly gorgeous. Love the map-like labelled one.
