Could be fun to see. I'm thinking Crowleys rerouting of the M5 (?) in Good Omens
The movement of people will generate the magic that fuels the rune
I'm amazed by all the city maps that have been popping up on the Guild of recent (watching Gandwarfs skills develop has been gratifying). So for those with either the inclination or the time, I had a city mapping challenge/request.
I've always been fascinated by Eltabbar in the Forgotten Realms (the map of it can be found at http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ma...r98_150dpi.jpg). For those not in the know, its a city laid out as a giant rune that imprisons a demon lord. Maps of the city are discouraged, as every map made and destroyed weakens the rune.
So I'm curious to see what city maps can be made in the shape of a rune or runes. Its not as hard as it sounds as I see something with lots of curving streets and circles.
As to whether it imprisons an entity or is part of some massive magic focus/artifact/device is left to you. For inspiration, here's a wiki page that details Eberron dragonmarks (with links to pics of all of the marks on the bottom) http://eberron.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonmarks.

Interesting idea, maybe I'll give it a shot if I have time.

Ideal for a city map, I like it.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.
