    Map Nostria Town Map

    Hey guys!

I guess this will be my last finished map I'm able to share in 2015, just finished this one. Hope you like it! =)

It is a city called Nostria from the German P&P-RPG 'The Dark Eye'. There are many proverbial sayings about this city, not many of the are flattering and working on this one was a lot of fun, but I actually didn't like the look until I did some color tweaking in the end. And yes, this is sh... well, "dirt" in the river... ;)

It's the other one I mentioned earlier here. =)

Made with: Wacom Intuos 4L, Photoshop CS6

Feel free to rep or critique, I'm - as always - open for every input =)
    Cheers, Steffen

Excellent map! I especially like how you solved the border going into the island on both sides!

    Very nice Steffen.
I like the buildings with borders as a way of designating them.
That's a good technique for that. You're just full of good ideas, aren't you.
I better get skype up and running - I'm missing out on some good conversation.

@Obbehobbe: Thanks! Yeah, everything else looked strange. This was probably the best way (at least of what I came up with).

@J.Edward: You better do! // Yeah, whenever I think I have a problem and need a solution I try to come up with one (the road less travelled, you know...). Lucky for me, no one ever has to see all the things I discard as a failure or weird ideas if I don't want to

Thank both of you so much! =)

    Really super job, Steffen!

I have one little quibble ... two of the three ships have their sails as for a south wind, and one as for a NE wind. So I think you need to draw a hurricane in the center between them

The dirty water idea is cool!

@Chick: Stop poking holes in my maps! No, thank you very much for that comment. I'm sure this will bug me from this point forward - so much that I will fix that right away. Update on my DeviantArt then. Good eye!

Finally, an authentic city map! One that shows the filth and crap, etc. In other words, I like the sh!t in the river. Nice touch.

Beautiful, pretty, much better than the old Nostria map! Loving it!
    Just very impressive!
    Beeindruckend wie immer <3

[edit] Having known the original map, at first I had the impression that you fumbled the northing - then I took a look at the continents map, and what do you know? The OLD Map was NOT aligned north, but your new one is! Good change

Damn shame that the printed product usually doesn't allow to marvel at the full glory,
and the digitally sold product usually has crappy image quality in the PDF

@chick: Alright, here we go again. Just let it dock properly and with seeked sails the exact position doesn't matter :D As a little thank you I put in a c-shaped ledge – 'c' for your name. It's yours now! :P Thanks again!

@Diamond: Thank you! Yes, it just works here :D

@Teferi: Yes, I did some changes I felt was necessary to it. I included some stuff, previously not shown and more up to date. Man, I do way too much research for this XD And yes, PDF-image-quality is sometimes really not gut - another reason why I share this with you all. Thanks! :D

    And here the little update:
