Lunatic's Random Sketches

I do a fair amount of practice sketches since I'm really not much of an artist or a cartographer. I like to think of myself as a nerd with too much time on my hands and a set of nice pens that my wife got me. Anyway, looking at other people's sketches has helped me a great deal so I've decided to start this thread and post some of the randomness that I work on. These will be without any fixing in post so I can work on the base techniques and skills that I am using.

Here's the "final" version. I went with a different look than I normally Do and I kind of like it so far.

These sketches look really good, particularly with the way you draw mountains.

Thanks, I keep forgetting how I do them so it's taking some practice to improve.

Hey, Art is 90% skill and only 10% talent. Anyone can acquire the skills to create art if they have the desire to do so. Looks like you are off to a great start, I really think you have a nice classic style. Keep using those pens! ��

I feel like the forests are a little bit of a weak point. Not saying they are bad, they just don't seem up to snuff with the rest of the map, especially the mountains. I personally have a lot of difficulty doing that style of forest.

That being said, I think these are quite lovely maps. Keep up the good work!
