    Default Space Station map

    Working on a time consuming to design space station map with detailed locations. I plan this to be multi-level, and I'm working on the main storefront level, at the moment. I chose an octagon shape, as it some aspects of circular design - what you might expect to find in space station design, with straight lines, making it easier to work with. At the center is station support structure that holds each level together, plus both cargo and personnel elevators that carry station personnel and equipment throughout the station. Also a main systems tunnel lies with as well. The triangular spaces in the "corners" are places of ship systems as well.

    Outer Ring - top center: elevators for guests to the station. starting top right (going clockwise): food vendors, one for casual fast food, second for alien cuisine, note the 4 alien table setups for certain common non-human races present in this sector. Right side are public restrooms. Below that is what I call the "new Navy" store featuring crew uniforms, flight suits, power armor, still suits, flight jackets, shoes and boots all for star ship crew members (there's a red shirt sale going on). The two identical storefronts on the bottom right are a traditional pharmacy, and a holistic pharmacy/Smoke Shop. On the center wall flanking the entries into the pharmacies is an "RX" on the upper one, with a marijuana leaf logo on lower one. More to go on the exterior octagon. I've started to create two shows on left side - a pawn shop with a large vault, and an identical structured gun shop. Weapons have digital locks that prevent guns from working on station, once on own ship, delocking code will be provided.

    Inner Ring - top left is the brothel, top right is a fine dining restaurant/bar, bottom left is a small casino, bottom left are an accounting office, the shadow bank takes the larger space and a law office, all doing business with nefarious organizations and individuals.

    Next space station level complete - the Station Security and Hospital level (hospital on left side, security on right). The same holding cells as the station brig are on the bottom of the hospital side which serves as isolation cells for long term disease patients. Both are fully capable, triple A status facilities. The yakuza HR department hires the best qualified physicians, security officers and staff.

    Next level of the space station is complete - the Maintenance Level. This one was easier, with less stuff, and larger equipment to take up space. The chambers on the bottom end serve the workers with a break room, latrine, management, parts department with a large 3D printer, and tool room. The chambers on the right side include shops for power plant, bridge controls, life support systems and robotics. On the left side is an airlock docking bay, weapon systems, avionics and drive systems. I used rusty textures to imply corrosive fuels, lubricants and cleaning solutions regularly used. 3 ship's boats are under repair in the main central area.

    Here's the warehouse level. On this level is shown the cargo bay extenders in action to accommodate larger sized ships. In this case, a container lift ship is shown that is longer than the cargo bay chamber.

    Looks great! I love how you did the casino. The attention to detail is really impressive!
