    Default Historical Battle Map

    Teruel Battle map (Bueña Sector).

Represent one of the minor battles that took place in the Teruel Front (Civil Spanish War 193.The relief is important cause the front line is defended by strategic fortified points. I have made it using contour lines "blew up" to stress the mountain feeling.
I have taken the lines and terrain information from contemporary topographycal maps (attached too)

Wow, that looks awesome! I love the 'feel' of it - those elevations and other art look great.

Impressive how you could decipher anything from the contemporary map! I like the elevations, but I would lower the bevel highlight just a little. I thinks it's too white, but that's my opinion. I wonder how it would look with harder (more precise) bevel instead of the smoothness?!

    Hello Obbehobbe

The contemporary map is to find names, small roads, rail roads, farms, etc... as they were in 1938.
For contour lines I use a more clear one, subsequent. depending the availability, in this link:
    Instituto Cartográfico

    (I will continue later)

The map I have use is this, has a scale 1:25.000

    Attachment 55847

You can find trenches, fortifications and other similar information in:

    Vestigios de la Guerra Civil

If you want to know other map appearance, I made some variations over the same map:

The last map covers a more extensive area of the mountains range.

I like the latter ones better, because they are more sharp. The small flags are also a nice addition.

There are no fixed rules about taste

I think I copied the flags somewhere, althought I use to make my own icons for maps. Here you'll meet several information about this period to add to maps, only have to search "Guerra civil":
