Hello Friends,

As a new member, I wish to say hello to everyone. My interest in mapping lies mostly from the amateur game development perspective -- web based for now. I still use Paintshop Pro as my primary graphics too for now. I own licenses to several of the mapping engines, like campaign cartographer. I definitely lack artistic skills, but I know what I like, albeit being rather picky about GUI. I work as a BI expert with specialties in Business Objects, ETL, reporting, and architecture. I am quite happy to trade my knowledge (work hours or advice) for mapping or tilesets. My number one need now involves a nice interface and maps for a top down 2D fantasy RPG. I am undecided about 2D vs isometric vs a large map wit hot spots. I am leaning towards the last, with 2D or isometric for dungeons. Think early Might and Magic, but with today's much nicer graphics. Add in high quallity and elaborate GUI for the other pieces -- character development, battles, inventory, and a much more sophisticated rules set. Feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
David
