Hi!
I'm Francesca Baerald a freelance artist that mainly paints fantasy and sci-fi illustrations.
During the last year I discovered a new passion for cartography and started to paint maps for games and books.
You can see some of my maps here: http://francescabaerald.deviantart.c.../52356478/Maps
I've just learnt about CartographersGuild and I was amazed by the great info and beautiful maps that you can find here!
I'm really happy to have joined and can't wait to start search through all the posts

Hello Francesca, welcome to the Guild!
That's a beautiful gallery you have! It will be a lot of fun to see more of your maps here I hope you'll post frequently!
Hi Steffen!
Thank you for letting me know about this place...it is amazing!
Can't wait to start working on another map
Francesca
Welcome.
I would suggest to start with the Tutorial sub forum. You will find there an amazing accumulated wealth about how to do almost everything.
I just had a look on your link. You have there some really nice map borders and cartouches.
You did them yourself or is there some hidden map elements' treasure that I have never found ? (See also the Map Elements sub forum)
Thank you Chick!
I'll try to do my best
This is a place really full of inspirations!
Thank you Deadshade!
I'll go and check the tutorial sub form
Everything in my maps (except for text) is created by me. I really love ornaments and decorations
Oh wow !
I have been hunting for old style (kinda antic) borders and cartouches for a long time. Without much success. For ornamental scale bars actually with no success at all.
May I eventually use parts of yours (with giving credit of course) ? I have no concrete plans, just asking.
This is scary. Only a few hours ago I found one of your maps on DeviantArt by accident, and thought, "Why haven't I seen these stunning city maps before?". And now, here you are!
Can't wait to see more of your impressive, and inspiring work. From what I have seen thus far, you're the cartographer to watch this year!
Cheers,
Tainotim
