    Hi all,

I found Cartographers Guild by chance, browsing desperately while I was looking for a good desert oasis map. I was amazed by what I saw here.
I'm 46 years old, and I'm a big fan of role playing games. I'm not very good at drawing maps. I'm using Gimp for it, but my work looks like a 2 years old drawing.

So I'm joining you for both learn some technics and also to get some advices or some maps depending on my needs for my RPG scenarii.

Also, I apologise in advance for my bad English, I'm French, be tolerant .

Thank you all for letting me join this community.

Hey Guzim and welcome to the Guild.
Here's a desert oasis I did for someone awhile back.

The Guild is one of the best places on the net for maps, fantasy or otherwise.
No worries about english either. We have some members from France and and some other native French speakers here too.
    Cheers,
    John

Hi Guzim, Welcome to the Guild!

There is a great tutorial in the sticky section of Tutorials, called Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=4276

From there, go to Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Once you have completed those two tutorials, you'll be well on your way!!

Edward, it was the map that decided me to come here. It's absolutely fantastic.

Awesome. I'm glad I inspired you to come to the Guild.
I was inspired to come here by many of the other fine cartographers I had seen years ago.
    The circle is completed.
