    Map Newaburg

A commissioned alternate history map. The Germans won WWII and former Leningrad is now a German city.

    Done in PS.

Clean and nice work. My only critic would be that the bevel effect on streets gives the feeling that they're slightly elevated.

Yep, I agree with Max about that bevel.

I love the stark, almost harsh, look of it. Definitely fits the subject matter.

    Thank you both!
Very strange, the streets don't have any effect, but I use a drop shadow on the buildings layer.

A bit spooky, but very well done Sapiento! I was caught by the "bevel illusion" too. I guess it's because one (at least me) usually expects the shadows on the other side of the objects... the streets being lighter toned than the buildings are doing the rest

Clean and nice map Sapiento. Concerning the shadows, I think it depends how you look at it... Sometimes, you get the opposite of what you want, but looking at it a second time, and it fits well.
