    Post Hi there!

Hello! So I found myself here by looking for Tavern Maps. I'm actually running a D&D game for my friends but not only am I new to being a DM, I'm also new to D&D in general... as in never played. So, I started looking around to see what I could use and here you are so here I am! I find maps fascinating and I love drawing them and creating worlds around them. I was actually thinking of making a globe of the world my friends will be playing in but that's just me getting ahead of myself for no other reason than my own amusement. I love the site so far, so full of great information!

Good luck with your D&D game! I started my first game of D&D as a first time D&D and DM also. It was super fun, but D&D can be daunting at times. Nearly two years later, I can offer a couple pieces of advice.

1: Don't focus so much on grand scale stuff that will take all your time to complete. Instead of starting with the whole planet, try to zoom in on the players and surrounding regions, then expand outward as your players move outward. I mean, be realistic... in medieval times, almost no one had a complete map of the world. Everyone knew who their neighbors were, and that's about it.

2: Never forget the purpose of D&D... to have fun! Don't let anything get in the way of that, whether it be rules, physics, or even your own plans and efforts. If your adventurers want to run around on the opposite side of the world from the dungeon... let them. If they haven't seen your intended dungeon, just copy-paste it there. Just remind them that it'll take a hundred years for them to GET to the other side of the world .
