Hi, quick introduction - I've been on the site a few times over the years, ending up here randomly while browsing, thinking this stuff is cool, then completely forgetting about it again! I hope to stick around this time, and try creating some maps of my own.

I have an 'arty' background (family) so creating stuff has always been part of my life. I'm currently working as a technical artist in the games industry (plug - check out Celtic Heroes for ios and android hope that's ok mods) I recently did some tweaks to our game maps which got me looking at maps on pinterest and led me back here again.

Currently loving the style of Mike Schley (the skullkickers map is amazing) - so his work is going to be a big influence for the time being.

I've been using photoshop for years, but I'm interested in trying to use pen and water colour to do a full map, but don't know if I've got the patience/skill to manage that!

Hi David, welcome to the Guild. Glad you've decided to become a part of the community and I'll look forward to seeing some of your work. Mike Schley's maps are hugely popular with the community, and he actually posted a new map here just the other day. We've got a few hand-drawers in the forums, so if you're looking for advice about that, just ask and I'm sure someone can help you. Personally, I can't live without my undo button!
