Awesome! I plan on home schooling my daughter and there will definitely be some d&d based learning involved. Welcome aboard! You sound like a great mom!

Hello, All. I'm a 38 yr old mother of 2 with a grand child on the way. I've been DMing table top for about 16 years, playing for 19. Recently the kids ran across my stash of AD&D books (2e). The 18 year old wanted to teach her boyfriend and the 10 year old princess was very curious. I was DMing again with 24 hours!
Before when I was DMing we used a lot of table top mats/maps that belonged to friends, or I'd sketch a rough draft for myself then walk my PCs through drawing a graph paper map. My daughter wanted to try her hand at DMing and since we started in the same "realm" (Wizard's Challenge II, TSR, 1994) I sketched a map from the WC area to a coastal town I named quickly when I needed a name! It's since become not one, but two different adventures, using 2 sets of PCs (I quest her adventure; she quests mine), my NPCs, her NPCs and OUR shared NPCs. Yes, we keep it all together! LOL!
We've done a lot of "teaching" quests and have one set of PCs into 2-3 lvl and one at 4-6 level, and we're ready to go on but since we started to really like and flesh out our shared NPCs we decided to make a realm of our own.
Last night, looking for ideas, I found Cartographer's Guild. Today (Tuesday), I started with a rough hand sketched few continents this morning, and I scanned it in, because in the last decade I've gotten really fond of digital imaging.
Tonight (uhm.. Wednesday morning...) I have a fairly usable topography map (I think anyway, it's my first) so we can split our cast & crew and adventure through Iaxorith. She's created a dwarven mountain stronghold, and I'm fleshing out my seacoast town. We'll continue to flesh out our realm as long as we can... we even drew in a HUGE zaratan, moving about with an island on it's back. Plus my husband has been reasonably warned that Santa needs to bring me a drawing tablet LOL!
I'll link my map post when I figure out where to stash it! Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks, Robbie! I wish I had thought aqbout this in school because she's written more about her stronghold than I think she ever did during assignments! lol! She's basically got it planned out, written on paper like a choose your own adventure!!
