Default Mediterranean ocean: Sea level +900

If the sea level was 900 meters higher than today, what would Europe and Northen Africa looked like?
    here's the answer

I had a lot of fun working on this one, i used bathymetric data from http://www.gebco.net/ and worked with QGIS and Photoshop.
    i hope you'll like it

Could you elaborate a bit on the steps of your process? Just on a broad level.

It's pretty cool. 900+ meters is a hell of a lot of water. But it's interesting to see just how much is above that level. Nice work.

Looks pretty good but Earth doesn't have enough water to reach that level. We would need to import water from other planets.

Yep i think that if all the ice from north and south pole melt the sea level increase would be 'only' 80 meters, but the map was less fun with only that increase
About the method for doing the map, i took the DEM data from gebco, and use it to make an hillshade. I then did an elevation map with gradient colors, with the blue colors starting at 900 meters to simulate the sea. Finally i mix both items with photoshop for a nice render.

    Nice and very well done!

Cela me fait penser aux carnets de voyage d'Imago Sekoya, une série que j'adore .

This looks pretty awesome! One of my favorite maps to look at is a conceptual/what-ifs maps set in the real-world.

Great map - it just goes to show how high so much of Turkey is! Fortunately a 900m rise in sea level is pretty unlikely, despite what Kevin Costner might say

Couple of observations - did you not recolour the land after changing the height? All those islands would be pretty green and tropical, and I doubt the Swiss Archipelago would be snowy mountains, being almost at sea level.
