    Post Hello Everyone

Hi, I would just like to introduce myself here at this fine forum...and ask a question. Do any of you actually make your maps without photoshop, GIMP, or some other complex photo editing software (like with pencil/paper and their virtual equivalents)?

    Welcome to the Guild!

Well, I use CC3, which is really a CAD program, and not GIMP or photoshop.

I also have made hundreds of maps in Pen/Paper with colored pencils.

My most recent strictly Pencil/Paper map is this one:

    Welcome Aboard!

There are plenty here who start with pencil/paper. Many choose to then scan and import into a graphics editing software to give their map life.

Though one day I would love to see Ascension crank out a map in stained glass...now that would be something!

Welcome to The Guild. I think most of us started out drawing maps by hand "back in the day". Computers and the accessories make it easier to do some types of things that cannot be done by hand...like putting down nice looking text for those of us who have chicken scratch for handwriting
