Great Work!! Was it initially a game map or a project for a game?

No, but I used the 'Battle Map' mapping technique because it suited my needs. I wanted my daughter to have a fairly "to-scale" map that had objects that weren't to abstract for her to use as reference points for the area around her. As mentioned above, it works well when in conjunction with Google Earth, and helps bring to life the areas that my daughter has visited.
I could slap a grid on it, zoom in a bit and it would work as a game map, but I'm an old fogey who doesn't have anyone to play the games with these days *sympathy backslaps please*
I really like this map, and I love the idea behind it, very creative. I may try out on my son (nearly 6) to see if he likes it. He's been getting interested in maps lately so there's hope!
Of course it sounds like you're shaping a future gamer and already doing a bit of your own RP storytelling. Kudos! I hope you get a chance to share some more maps like this one.
cheers,

Looks fantastic, Jugabyte! The coloring is brilliant, the black/white makes the green look almost magically vibrant. Wonderful map!
Those my roof tops?
