My first computer was a 386 as well. (Technically my first was a Tandy 2000... but we won't go there.) We put the math co-processor in ourselves. along with that 40MB hard drive we had a whopping 2MB of ram, which was expandable to 4MB. And the v.90 56k modem that only ran at 24.4K (on a good day, usually 14.4K) because of the phone lines we had...
