    Oh that would be good.

    I'll look forward to it

I'm looking at the colour situation again and I'm thinking that you aren't using any kind of paper or parchment. Maybe if you added a paper texture in the background, and changed the layer modes of those colour layers it would make them more...

I'm not sure what I'm trying to say. I think I feel like the colours are somehow weighty, as in heavy. Its a very odd feeling I get when I look at them. Its like they're very solid. Maybe multiplying them with some parchment texture would give them a bit more of a vibe of some kind.

LOL! If that doesn't make any sense to you, then join the club. I'm a bit tired and it definitely affects the way I see things and try to explain them.

What you mean is it's all very uniform and boring right now. I do follow this as I have just been bucket filling using a layer mask. There are a lot of things I need to do to add some 'ooomph' to this map I've been playing with the contour/shading/highlight thing for most of it though, to see how it turns out.

I'm not sure but you may try to add some (light) shadows on the bright side of the mountains... just some lines, to add relief on the sunny side too ? I'm not sure, but it might add a better sense of the relief
I agree JO. For some reason I find it harder to add highlights though. I did add some to the peaks but they were too bright so I lowered the opacity. I think I want to paint in a lot more relief around the map though.

As Mouse says I'm very 'solid' in my colours at the moment. I do need to get some textures in there and that big blank bit to the left? I should use it or lose it I suppose.
