I've been wanting to prepare a oneshot for a little while now and this seems like the perfect opportunity. I will need to think for a bit though to find a cool idea...

I started drawing a map but my "simple" backstory is now 949 words long, and there's still a bit of story for the last part of the map left to write. Is that normal, or should I just say: This is a cave, this is what lurks in it? Is a 2 page description of the adventure normal or too long?

Either is good. For some of my games I write a detailed explanation of the backstory, why they are here, and each and every encounter detailed out. For other games I just have a rough Idea of what is going on, what kind of monsters predominate, and then I just turn the players loose and just wing it! Sometimes those are the most fun.

Well, its been roughly 25 years since I tried to do something "convention" oriented and that was a multi-session adventure. If I get power back at home in the next few days, maybe I'll give this a shot.
