Where does the rest of your Atlas live online?
Hi everyone
Here is a “finished” map of mine of the Rift Crag area of Greyhawk. It is a part of my “Atlas of the Flanaess” series.

As an admittedly utter neophyte to the art of software driven map-making, I'm jaw-dropped by the gorgeousness of the work linked above! I'm having the normal newbies reaction of "How on earth do you get results like that?!".
Anna uses Bryce 3d models (if I remember correctly) which give effects you can't really get with 2d apps.
Thank you Sukerkin
Just as ravells wrote I use Bryce5.5 and 6 to construct and render the terrain. The terrain for the Flaness Atlas maps are all made using Bryce 5.5 which is available as freeware: http://www.download.com/Bryce/3000-2187_4-10696719.html
That is a bargain in my opinion!
I use Corel Photo Paint X3 and Corel Painter X to edit the terrain renderings. Then I use CorelDraw X3 to make symbols, heraldry etc and put everything in place.
A guide to how I make my maps is in the works and will be published here at Cartographers Guild.

I look forward to reading that, Anna .
I'm currently struggling to beat Fractal Mapper into submission and work around some of it's more major shortcomings and flaws (one of which is of "How on earth did this get through test?" severity).
So, that being the case, I'm greedily consuming any insights into how to go about things from the various talented people here at CG.
Best of luck working up the 'How To' guide :rei:.
Note: Rei is the name of the Japanese bow of respect so when I type :rei: it is meant to indicate such {if I use Sensei Rei then I've been seriously impressed :lol}.

And  ? (Let's hope you're using that in the non-English sense too! Lol!)
