Another WIP.
I visited Elburg (here on google maps) this summer, a tiny town with medieval origins. I decided to make a map, based on some old maps I found on the web (here for example). It's not supposed to be historically accurate. I took some pics from google maps to help with the placement of buildings, which turned out to be a nice background filler texture.
The excellent buildings and trees are by rpgmapmaker (forum thread here). I did the church myself, in what is supposed to be a similar style.
There's a lot of work left to do, but I thought I'd post a shot. Comments welcome.
Another WIP.
This is progressing quite nicely...

Gandwarf has fallen into shadow...
All houses now done, and the trees are in. Next challenge is getting a decent looking city wall.
Nice work Fransie! Are you Dutch? If you like this kind of villages with walls or water canals to protect the population in ancient times, you will probably like Naarden too!
You will find several of these 'vestingssteden' in the Netherlands.
I am Dutch indeed, John. I live in Delft where there isn't much left of the old city defenses.
Progress is slow, the city walls gave me a very hard time to get right. I think I'm gonna draw seperate towers, it's rather obvious that the four I've placed so far are duplicates. And I'll have a go at a windmill.
