    Wip [WIP] Xaos - regional map

    A map for a RPG and larp project that I am working on together with some friends. Started it last night, I think it's shaping up reasonably well. The language used is also a constructed language, made by myself for the same purpose.

    I don't have the fonts installed on my new computer yet, so the fonts are highly placeholder status.

    So far, the things I am looking at doing next are:
    * Water textures
    * Proper fonts
    * Terrain names and details
    * Outer territories, cities and their names.
    * Rivers in the outer lying regions.

    Made in Photoshop CS 5. Thoughts are, of course, welcome!

    And, of course, islands. Islands are needed too.

    Looks like a good start...looking forward to seeing where you take it.

    Looks pretty good, man.

    One of the things I seek to do is to actually change my style here - I used the basic one that I tend to use for all maps for the ground, but I want to develop it somehow. Make it more detailed, more personal, more effects to the "whole" of the map as well. I tend to ignore the borders and such on my map ( outer, image borders ) and just focus on the continents etc, but perhaps I should add in details there..

    Style takes a while to evolve if you don't know where you want to go with it. Mine's been evolving for years and I still don't know where I want to go or if I want to go. So just make experiments and see what catches your eye.

    Great start... got a slightly "quilted" or "stitched" feel to it. Probably the paths/roads. Nice mountains and relief depiction.
