July/August Challenge Entry: Magical Library
Started over the weekend a bit and got more done today. I still need to fill in a fair amount of details and fix up some stuff like the door. Its one of those You Are Here signs. Except this one, being magical, will constantly change when you move. An Official Marauders map!

Being a magical library, shouldn't it have an Astrology section instead of Astronomy?

As for Astrology vs Astronomy; good question. I actually thought that myself, but those subject headings are based on the classes from the Harry Potter series (at least according to Google). Astrology wasnt one of them; it may be something lumped into Divination, which I decided to leave off as a general subject area. perhaps a second floor is needed...
In Harry Potter Astrology is indeed part of Divination. I'm not quite sure WHY Astronomy is studied, it's not a magical subject. Maybe just to give an excuse for Hogwarts having a really tall tower.

I have started make a few more additions, but really, I think now that I need a second level to house the archives, special collections, bathrooms, and the inter-library loan department. I dont think I will have time to finish this one before the contest ends as I am going away on Aug. 1st. Oh well...guess I will just do what I can between now and then.
Well, loads of changes and a second level yet to build. I dunno if I will get this done but so far I am having fun which is the main thing, right?
Let me know of any changes you think are needed or your opinions on the library so far, please! I know the second floor has some major problems: its really just a place holder right now, as I still have things I want to add to the Main Stacks level.

the second floor should be made out of wooden catwalks radiating out from the staircase to each section - so that it is partially open to the first floor below... just an idea
