Default *** Sep/Oct 2014 Lite Challenge VOTING: Map a Lake***

...And another one bites the dust. The challenge this time was to map a lake, any lake, any way you wanted to, as long as the lake was the focus of the map. And some very nice entries this month!

Here are the challenge thumb pics: Click me for pretty pictures!

Voting will go for three days (ending the evening of the 17th - Friday). The winner wins a silver compass, the admiration of his or her peers, and a genuine, authentic Huzzah!

Vote for as many as you'd like, and please don't forget to rep those you feel are worthy.

Domino44’s entry is my favourite this month.
A daring but inspired choice of colours, an effort to draw every element without using premade elements and a successfully achieved fairy tale style: in my opinion, all these features would deserve a win.
Anyway congrats to every competitors for the good entries.

I liked chick's the best but unfortunately... couldn't rep her. Gave rep to those I could, though.

It was hard to vote on this one, everyones work was really good! I voted for the Cartography Lakes Golf Club's Fantastic Finish by SJS, Howling Wolf Lake by TheHoarseWhisperer, and The Inland Island Sea by chick. I thought that SJS's map was original and a really good idea, I enjoyed the story behind THW's map, and chick's work was exceptional.

This was a great challenge with all very good entries. I had to vote for Inland Inland Sea for being simply beautiful, The Lake of Tears for pulling off jewel tones in a very striking way (not easy to do!), and Tutorial Lake for inspiring me to pick Wilbur back up and try to get mountains like THAT out of it

Rep all round, all of you did an incredible job.

I only voted for 1 but that's just because I figure I have to do my best to help a winner come through.

These are all great and it took me a while to determine who to cast my vote on. I think I'm glad you guys weren't around when I was doing these.

I'll get my giant rep club out now and start whackin

Good luck everyone! I was hoping I'd do better, but judging by the polls I'm already out. I guess it's to be expected after being gone for so long. Maybe next month.

    Anyway, good luck again!

I've decided not to vote in this one since I have an entry, but I have to say I'm really impressed with most of these! This is the first one I've really entered - I did one a couple of months ago but never got much past the idea stage. This one I put a lot into. After seeing the other entries, my reaction is "OMG, if this is the Lite contest..." Yowza. Great work.
