QGIS/GRASS/Hydrography

Hello,
Recently I started using QGIS for mapping. I found good terrain DEM map of area i want to map and successfully applied it on google maps and even menage to color height variations with Terrain Analysis (i dont know how to do it with Grass tools).
Problem is i dont have rivers. There is a way to get rivers from DEM map with r.watershed GRASS tool by QGIS but i dont know how to use it. (none of the manuals and tips i read helped)

So does someone know where i can find Hydrographyc network map just like i found DEM file and how to applay it (overlay it) ? (link to video guide would be great)
PS I need a very detailed river network for my area. Basically like every little river shown in google maps i need it. Its micro mapping

Are you looking for real world geodata or tools to create realistic stream networks, etc. from imaginary elevation grids?

I have some stuff up on my blog for getting properly located data into QGIS or GRASS, but I've been lazy and used Wilbur for my erosion and streamfinding needs.

I have another Wilbur post to finish, but after that I can start researching the Processing plug-in for QGIS. As a preliminary suggestion, the GRASS and SAGA hydro tools are pretty awesome. Try to use D-inf, DEMON or MFD flow routing.

Thanks for replay i decided to add them manually in vector layer it takes more time but its much easier and more precise.

Right now Im just adding them manually as line or polygon vector layer. All i found are very limited and not that detailed plus i need it for Europe not US.

OpenStreetMap generally has good coverage of Europe and there are plugins to import OSM data into QGIS. Checking with relevant governmental mapping agencies is also a possibility.

Now i have problem because QGIS wont accept Cyrillic letters only gives me set of question marks - ???????
Does anyone know how can i fix this?

fonts and languages ( localization)

what operating system are you using
the instructions for xp are different than win8.1

or the very VERY easy install on say
Debian 7
Redhat Enterprise Linux 6
Slackware
SUSE

I fixed it. Just put a different encoding in layer.
