I have previously managed to make house roof shadows in Photoshop that automatically adjust to the direction of the house.
Now I think I have found a way to do it in Adobe Illustrator! Does it look ok? As you can see, this is without any texture, roof tiles and stuff.

Was that for me ? The link provided has all the details.
I have some trouble reading that much text (visually impaired nowadays) but the turorial demands a 3D program and a script? The houses I have done have shading in Illustrator all the time... just rotate them and the shading follows. I will try to replicate this technique in Photoshop as well - it should work.
I will soon test if this technique works for more complex roofs.... which might be tricky.

looks fine to me. I've made a few item myself for mapping with automatic shading i photoshop, but haven't tried it in Illustrator.
