I thought I'd have a go at a monthly mapping challenge, hopefully I'll get time to complete it properly.
This is Frustheim, a cold, northern frontier town. I simply took the template and started messing with patterns and layer styles and this is was has sprung out (so far). This is an initial 'overview WIP' and I hope (given time) will progress into something reasonable.

I'm a sucker for cold locations, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread. Looks great so far.
i really like that shading and lighting. some of the ridges look a little harsh, maybe there can be faults or other imperfections.
Hmmm, I've been toying with more of a 3D feel to the map this last day or so. This is only an overview of shape and form and still needs to be painted.
