    Default Aglaragon

Quite recently, me and a few friends decided to play D&D, and when it came my turn to DM my own adventure, I wanted to dive right in. I started with extended storylines, specific game details, and a whole lore history, but most importantly the maps. This world is called Aglaragon.

Originally it featured a single continent, Vanimyth (Vanaris for beatiful in elven, and Mythara the godess of Lore and Story), inhabited by indigenous races of man, elf, dwarf, giant, dragon, and orc. It's hundreds of thousands of years old, including empires and kingdoms that have stood unchanged for thousands of years, and have collapsed or broke in seconds. Deep caverns, glorious landscapes, and tall mountain peaks (Sorry for rambling, but as 'The Loremaster' I think every map should have a decent backstory and description that goes into it)

Featuring so far in zoomed in maps, the Kingdom of Francar

    and the Imperial Heartlands

I then, as I continued to write more about it (better at that than drawing haha), I decided to add another, larger continent that was more steampunk and renaissance like full of gnomes, halflings, dwarven race offshoots, and possibly other sentient races. (Refer to first map) But I haven't totally made it yet, so any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
And I want to know what you guys think (my group thinks I'm obsessed) any feedback would be greatly appreciated, and I am certainly open to criticism and suggestions, Thanks!

If you are obsessed with maps, you are certainly in the right place

These maps look perfectly functional, in that you can easily see where things are -- rivers, mountains, cities, all the usual important stuff on a map.

If you would like to get more artistic about them, there are some good tutorials for doing that using Photoshop or GIMP. This is a good one to start with: Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Have some rep for your first map post! I hope to see many more
