That looks like it will be interesting.
I understand about the time, still, it would be cool to see six if time permits.
Maybe you could simplify a bit to fit six in?
Okay, I was thinking of doing some kind of terrain or water elements but I decided some small place-of-interest illustrations that can be floated around on a map or set around the edges would be more fun right now. Feel free to chime in with comments, suggestions or critiques (with my thanks!). I may just stick with three and render them in two different styles--one fully shaded and the other just line art--because they take a while and I don't really have the time to come up with more.
Here's the first one sketched in. It still needs a lot of work.

Beautiful !
Indeed very fitting as inlays on a map to illustrate a particular atmosphere or story.
I also did a bit of similar cameos so feel with you because it is indeed a lot of work especially with this level of accuracy
Wow, this is gorgeous and would look fantastic on the right map. Really looking forward to seeing you develop it, and hope you manage a few more. It's such a great idea for the challenge, as it's really different from most other mapping elements floating around.

That's very beautiful work!
Very lovely and atmospheric drawing Chashio, and a great idea for an entry! Looking forward to see the two different styles next to each other.
Thanks for all the comments and support! I'm working on sketching in the second one but it's taking longer than the first... the perspective and angles are a bit more finicky, at least for me, with all the man-made structures in it. So I probably won't do more than three right now, J, but I do want to do more of them in the somewhat-near future and then make maps to fit my own imaginings of them (can't go this far and not map them, right?) so don't lose hope.
Go Chashio go! I always look forward to new stuff from you, and this is an awesome idea.
