Thanks to the Internet gremlins, my first attempt to post here seems to have gone missing.

Trying again, I found a book by Jared Blando that has inspired me to try my hand at making maps. I have loved maps for as long as I can remember. Combining that with being a long time RPG player, I'm going to see how I fair at mapping a campaign world for an upcoming game.

Jared's website had a link to this site and I came straight here! Admittedly, I'm rather artistically challenged but Jared's book made the process seem quite approachable.

I'm looking forward to learning a new hobby!

Hey Tracey, welcome to the Guild.
There are lots of knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people here so you've come to the right place.
There are a lot of tutorials about different styles of mapping.
Try out some, post a map and ask questions. You'll get good help.

To get you started, there is a great tutorial in the sticky section of Tutorials, called

From there, go to

Once you have completed those two tutorials, you'll be well on your way!!
